It mainly introduces the First and second Law of Thermodynamics which are obeyed in the process of the conversion between heat energy and mechanical energy, thermodynamic properties of working mediums, thermodynamic processes and working principles of thermodynamic cycles. After studying Engineering Thermodynamics, student can know macroscopic research methods for thermodynamics, grasp the basic conception and laws of thermodynamics, analyze and settle thermodynamic processes using energy conversion laws and basic knowledge of efficient used energy, and establish the concepts to utilize energy rationally and efficiently. These will be solid theoretical foundation in the future work on the heat energy utilization for the students.
